I’m not sure I’d come back. The pollution is awful, traffic is crazy, and customer service in general is minimal. But the country outside of Santo Domingo is absolutely breathtaking. If you get out of the city frequently enough, this post rocks.

Please take my opinions with huge grains of salt, as I’m nearing the end of my time here and am ready for re-patriation. Check out blogs The B-Files and For Lack of Tacos and all the numerous post reports on talesmag.com for a more well-rounded group of opinions.

But the car and the shopping killed us. We luckily needed a hotel for only one night, so I can’t comment there (but I would imagine a hotel would have added a couple thousand to the damage).
